French labelmaker adds Mark Andy LP3000 press

Staff -- Converting Magazine, 9/1/2004

Brittany, France-based label converter Bern-etic installs the first Mark Andy LP3000 (St. Louis) flexo-printing line in France. The family-owned company, founded in 1984 by Emile and Gilberte Carré and now employing sons Stephane and Frederick and daughter Miriam, has always specialized in the 10-in. label market. Serving predominantly the food markets of France, Bern-etic focuses on short-run, multi-color jobs, where additional techniques like delam/relam and printing on the reverse side can be valuable sales aids. The new 8-color LP3000 is fitted with a full Hönle UV-curing system, which allows Bern-etic to offer a far higher quality of label to customers whose work was previously printed using water-based inks. The new LP3000 uses Mark Andy's next-generation "QC" quick-change system that makes for faster and cleaner make-ready—an important factor in short-run work.
