Ionizing bar
The new Model 976 Ionizing Bar features resistively-coupled emitter pins that are said to provide the ultra high power for both extended range and high-voltage neutralization while retaining the model's shockless nature, protecting personnel from unpleasant shocks. The unusual spatial array of the emitters and the central spine together enhance ionization range by reducing ion recombination, says co. The central spine also facilitates an air-boost option. This enhances the bar's range up to 48 in. and/or increases elimination speeds. Very sharp titanium emitter pins produce enhanced ionization, longer life and almost no contamination.

Web & sheet cleaning system
The Static Air 08 is a noncontact web- and sheet-cleaning system that removes dust particles and small debris from film and paper. Said not to damage or scratch the material, it is equipped with high-output ionizing bars, and reportedly eliminates the toughest static surface charges that cause dust and debris to adhere to the material. Special nozzles, with very economical compressed air consumption, sweep the unwanted particles towards the vacuum head of the unit, says co.

Treater/static controller
Pillar Technologies and Simco Static Control, both divisions of ITW, Inc., team up to offer the industry's first corona treater/web cleaner/static control unit for the narrow-web industry. This packaged system is designed to run standard, metallized or sensitive film material from 7.5 to 30 in. treat width, run at line speeds over 700 fpm, and is available in single- and dual-side configurations. The equipment comes pre-assembled and pre-wired from the factory. To assist installation, the design incorporates adjustable mounting plates that conform to most configurations. The attached web cleaner, available in contact and non-contact configurations, can lift spray powder and other impurities down to 20 microns in size, while the static neutralizer unit eliminates any static charge on the web.

Static neutralizer
This co. introduces the first static neutralizing system with computer interface for use in hazardous locations, including Class I, Division 1 or 2, Group D areas. The patented Virtual ACe Intelligent Static Neutralizer features a high-efficiency static neutralizing bar, solid-state high-voltage power supply with a built-in monitoring circuit, and a controller. The control and interface components are installed outside the hazardous area. Patented ionization technology increases long-range neutralizing performance, keeping bars farther away from the web and decreasing bar contamination. The computer interface allows simultaneous control and monitoring of several bars.

Static meter
The Model 7905 Static Meter, a battery-operated unit designed to detect static charges and find the exact point where the static is generated, is a high-quality, portable, non-contact static meter able to produce years of trouble-free operation, reports co. It indicates surface voltage and polarity on objects up to 20kV at a spacing of one in. with an accuracy of 10 percent full scale.

Web-cleaning system
The Kelva web-cleaning system unites a noncontact web-cleaner head with passive or active antistatic equipment, a filter-fan unit, a dust collecting filter and control unit. The web itself and the collected contamination on the surface are deionized by a static discharge, located above and across the incoming web. To penetrate the moisture layer, the filter-fan unit generates pressured warm air, which when blown through the air slot in the cleaning head reduces the surface tension and allows effective dust removal. The patented cleaner head design allows penetration of the boundary air layer by directing turbulent air towards the web.
