Wide-mouth baler

For safer operation

This co.'s 8043 wide-mouth baler recently underwent engineering changes to increase operator control and safety. This high-production baler now utilizes a pressure transducer that allows operators to monitor and adjust tension pressure for each material grade using the baler's touchscreen operator interface. This pressure transducer improves operator safety by shutting down the baler if system pressure reaches unsafe levels. Analog load sensors are also now standard on the 8043 baler to control conveyor feed and overload to the fluffers. American Baler Co., 800/843-7512, www.americanbaler.com 2

Specialized screening

For offset printing

HighLine Screens are the newest addition to the FlexRip specialized screening family. By combining the advantages of stochastic screening with those of standard AM screening with rosettes, HighLine Screens enable printers to easily print the finest image details. With these new algorithms, it is possible to produce very high screen rulings at lower output resolutions than traditionally required. For example, a 423 lpi screen can be created at 2400 dpi resolution. By using IntelliCurve, FlexRip's digital dot-gain engine, even the smallest HighLine dot percentages will hold stably on plates and presses, while avoiding higher dot gain or retraining of press operators.
