Appleton, WI-based converter Hoffmaster, a division of Sweetheart Cup, has selected a third FIT Chambered System for its new 6-color Serv-O-Tec napkin flexo press. The PRODOFLEX unit, supplied by Flexo Inking Technologies, Sellersville, PA, was chosen from numerous competitive systems for its ability to provide additional productivity.
Buffalo, NY-based Tapecon, Inc., a converter of pressure-sensitive labels, decals, membrane switches and custom fabrications, installs an HP Indigo (Littleton, MA) WS-2000 digital-offset web press. Tapecon also provides screen, flexography, UV-flexo, rotary letterpress and rotary screen printing processes. The WS-2000 digital press makes Tapecon the first manufacturer with digital-offset printing capabilities in the region, it says.
Acton, MA-based supplier Kadant, Inc., has received a $3.8 million order for a stock-preparation system in China. The equipment, to be supplied by the company's Kadant Black Clawson, Inc., subsidiary, will be used for the production of recycled linerboard and other packaging materials. It incorporates advanced pulping, screening, and cleaning technologies to recycle usable fiber from corrugated containers and prepare it for entry into the paper machine.
