AIMCAL names 2003 Matteucci tech-paper excellence winners

Two papers presented at the 2003 AIMCAL Fall Technical Conference held Oct. 26-29 have been named winners of this year's John Matteucci Technical Excellence Awards. The papers were evaluated for the breadth of subject, technical content, presentation style and future impact on the technology or marketplace. They are:

Web Coating & Laminating: "The Coating is Bad, Now What: Common Coating Flaws in Reverse-Roll Coating" by Pete Walter and Bill Strong, National Starch & Chemical Co., Bridgewater, NJ. (See exclusive article on page 40.)

Vacuum Web Coating: "Real-Time Web Temperature Measurements and Heat Balance in a Roll Coater" by Eric Kurman, Flex Products, Inc., Santa Rosa, CA.
