Webcasting for digital-print insights

As you read this month's Viewpoint, Converting is about to embark on a totally new way of helping you do your job better. We will be sponsoring the industry's first online, Webcast conference: Digital Printing Technology for the Packaging, Label and POP Markets.

Session Two covers the operations and supply-chain enhancements of digital printing. David Atkinson, principal consultant on prepress and printing with Pira Intl., will provide examples of the technology's use by pharmaceutical companies; while Mike Hurst, product manager for Domino, and Bill Leach, president of Vivid Print Innovations, will talk about integration of marking and coding into manufacturing lines.
Session Three comprises a technical session on digital-print engines with Robert Harvey, technology manager of Xaar, covering piezo ink-jet for packaging, and Andrew Overend, research group leader of Avecia, discussing ink-jet inks for packaging applications.
Session Four, the first of two applications seminars, will take an in-depth look at turnkey solutions for labels, flexible packaging, and folding cartons. Converters Elisha Tropper, president of Prestige Labels, and Jodi Zimmerman, packaging specialist with Odyssey Printing, will relate their real-world experiences (both pro and con) as digital printers. In addition, Ken Daming, director of custom business development for Mark Andy, and Geert Van Den Hole, product manager for Dotrix, will explain how to integrate digital print into your existing converting operation.
Session Five wraps up with an applications perspective for corrugated and point-of-purchase displays. Converters Jeff Wettersten, manager of new business development at Inland Paperboard and Packaging, and Scot Tennyck, digital products manager for Menasha Display Group, will reveal how digital printing has changed their businesses. Lastly, Lee Grantham, vp at Mark Trace, will cover a prepress platemakers approach to large-format digital printing.
