For the third consecutive year, the Films Business of ExxonMobil Chemical Co., Macedon, NY, has received a Supplier of the Year Award from snack-food maker Frito-Lay. Substrate provider ExxonMobil Chemical works closely with Frito-Lay to develop custom specifications for clear, opaque and metallized OPP films. The films are converted into packaging materials for a variety of Frito-Lay brands.
Austin, MN-based Hormel Foods presented labelmaker Smyth Cos. with its 2002 Spirit of Excellence Award on May 29. The annual award honors Hormel's supplier partners who have attained service standards of excellence and who have assisted Hormel in its quest for customer satisfaction, the converter says. Smyth, headquartered in St. Paul, MN, is a long-time supplier of printed materials to Hormel, with an emphasis on product labeling, promotional materials, annual reports and POP displays.
Converter Inland Printing, LaCrosse, WI, receives its first "Partners in Excellence" award from end-user customer Miller Brewing Co., Milwaukee. Each year, Miller selects its top suppliers to receive the national award. Suppliers are selected based on their quality, service and cost-competitiveness and are chosen from a field of 8,500 Miller Brewing suppliers. Inland Printing converts glue-applied labels for Miller bottles and has been in business for 63 years. Inland has been a Miller supplier for four years.
