Press with digital servo drive
The Mark Andy 7000 press is equipped with Fine.Dot™ technology and the Accu-Drive™ web transport system. The Fine.Dot printing technology is said to achieve precise dot quality that can print the most demanding projects, including high-end process and vignettes. The Accu-Drive is a servo driven web transport system that allows every stage of the web to be managed with precision and accuracy, reports co. This press is also equipped with heat management, which allows for the use of thermosensitive substrates. The double rotary die-cutting module has die cylinders mounted outside the unit and they are supported on a lateral gliding system for easy access and quick changeover. A web turn bar assembly offers 2-sided printing capability and a sheeting conveyor station, which offers quality control and fast project completion, are found on the press as well. A laminating unit with cold foil capabilities is another feature. Optional accessories including corona treater, hot foil stamping, UV-flexo varnish unit, sheeting unit, fan fold unit, single or double UV curing system, web turn bar, edge slitting, and an additional web guide.

Flexo unit with options
The Ko-Pack Super 400 combination press includes an unwind, rewind and waster matrix rewind for 40 in., one UV letterpress unit, four UV flexo units, and one UV screen unit. In its processing section are two rotary die stations. A reverse printing system, wet and dry laminating stations, register control system and a hot-foil stamp station are available as options. The mechanical hardware has maximum 15 in. printing width and runs at a maximum speed of 450 fpm. The flexo printing unit is designed to be as simple as possible. Since this press only drives one anilox roller and plate cylinder, its mechanical load is kept at a minimal level. To ensure high-speed and high-quality printing, the UV system has the high power output of 400W per inch with an upgrade option of 600W.

Off-line gel counter
This co. introduces its off-line gel counter that can count and classify by size, gels, carbon specks, and gels with carbon. This counter is made to complement the co.'s online web and surface inspection systems. Defects of 50 microns and larger can be classified with the counter. Data is stored in a database and a high resolution image of each defect is captured. This system can also be configured for a lab extruder.

System with new operator interface
The new and improved TG 4000 Series has a complete operator interface redesign in the Windows NT operating platform. In conjunction with a flat panel LCD type touch-screen interface, the operator can easily and quickly call upon productive enhancing features, which include full closed-loop auto register control for establishing and setting color register on the press, reports co. The new register-control feature is said to offer converters much faster set-up times and reduces waste due to registration error. Additional enhancements include the TG 4000 Series automatic color and ANSI bar code-monitoring software including new image stabilization capabilities.
