Six new converting advances win 2002 GATF InterTech awards

Six converting-related graphic-arts technologies were chosen as winners in the 2002 InterTech Technology Awards competition, sponsored by the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation, Sewickley, PA. They include:
- Arpeco Injector in-line rotary cutting, creasing, and stripping converting system (Arpeco Engineering Ltd., Mississauga, ON, Canada);
- Enfocus Certified PDF workflow (Enfocus Software, Inc., San Mateo, CA);
- Gerber Sector coating-blanket production system (Gerber Innovations, a division of Gerber Scientific, Inc., Manchester, CT);
- ColorQuick press analysis system (Graphics Microsystems, Sunnyvale, CA);
- Hydro H2O inks (Midwest Ink Co., Broadview, IL); and
- JetPlate ink-jet CTP system (Pisces-Print Imaging Sciences, Nashua, NH).
Now in its 24th year, the InterTech program honors technological innovation within the graphic communications industry by singling out those technologies deemed significant by a GATF-independent judging panel comprising industry experts and end users. Thirty submissions were entered this year.
