Flat die

Prevents melt leakage

This flat die design was originally developed to stop melt leakage at the deckled portions of the die gap in extrusion coating, but it now provides the same benefits for cast film, says co. This new system combines an internal deckle and an external deckle. The external deckle provides more effective seals than internal deckles, whose main advantage is their more streamlined diversion of melt flow.

Amplifier card

With tension multiplexer

The MAC multiamplifier Card and the IMUX tension multiplexer, when used in combination, allow multi-point tension monitoring. The 5.5 x 7 in. MAC circuit card amplifies the signals from up to eight sets of tension transducers, supplying a corresponding number of 0 to 10VDC signals proportional to tension. These signals may be used as inputs to drives, PLCs or other tension monitoring or closed-loop tension control devices. The MAC outputs can be connected to the IMUX multiplexer accessory for multichannel tension signal display. The IMUX with switch and meter is used to select and display between multiple inputs from the MAC.
