Synthetic-paper converter Yupo Corp. completes installation May 29 of a new John Dusenbery (Randolph, NJ) Model 280 slitter/rewinder at its Chesapeake, VA manufacturing plant. The system is expected to help cut delivery time, provide on-demand sample fulfillment and ensure high quality of the company's YUPO® materials. The slitter/rewinder accommodates roll diameters for narrow and wide web printers. The high-speed, duplex center-winder is said to offer better process control and handling of Yupo's super-smooth synthetic papers for IML and direct-thermal applications.
Flex-pack converter Catty Corp., Huntley, IL, expands into a 30,000-sq-ft second plant to house its newly-retrofitted Bobst Champlain (Roseland, NJ) 8-color gravure press and new Deacro Industries (Mississauga, ON) 62-in. slitter/rewinder.
