Pressmaker KidderComexi welcomed more than 125 converting professionals to an open house April 23-25 at its Agawam, MA headquarters for demonstrations of its new FP 1808 "Direct Drive" gearless press. The system is reportedly the first true gearless press on the market, featuring "zero transmission error" technology. Two demonstrations were held daily, showing an 8-color job being run at 1,200 fpm on the CI-flexo system. Press operators performed complete job changeovers in only 10 mins.
