UV laminating adhesives can be cured in-line with this co.'s UV Optimum series UV Processor. It installs easily on coating lines from 10 to 110 in., says co. Space requirement in the web direction is only 3 ft for webs running at 1,500 fpm. With the UV Processor, UV laminating is applied to the substrate and nipped to the laminating film. UV adhesive is cured instantly as the laminated substrate passes through the processor. This system allows the converter to complete finishing in-line or to run roll to roll.

This co. manufactures pressure-sensitive adhesives available as single-coated, double-coated or transfer adhesive tapes. They are used to fasten, bond, seal, laminate, attach, mount or join different substrates and materials.

Adhesive system uses release coating

This co. introduces the TLS system. The adhesive is part of the system that also uses a release coating when needed. The adhesive can be made to be permanent or removable and can be acrylic and/or microsphere technology. One application uses an emulsion pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA), Craigbond 3256C and a unique one-part UV curable silicone release coating (Craigcoat 1048Q). The converter uses a flexo applicator to apply the silicone, then it passes and is cured under UV lamps. The emulsion PSA is applied wet directly on top of the cured silicone, joined to another web, then die cut to make stickers or stamps.

Thermokett HR™ is said to be heat resistant with good color strength and no need for a crosslinker. It also has good water resistance properties and superior abrasion and scratch resistance. The CLB system (Center Linear Bearings) eliminates excessive knife side loading, and subsequent reduced knife life from misuse of dovetail rack and pinion arrangements.
