TLMI honors "best managed companies"

Four converter members of the Tag & Label Mfrs. Institute, Inc., Naperville, Ill., captured the prestigious TLMI Eugene Singer "Best Managed Company" Award at the group's 2002 Converter Meeting, held March 3-6 in Naples, Fla.
Belmark, Inc., DePere, Wis., was honored for the fifth time in the large-company category (more than $35 million in sales). Los Angeles Label, Commerce, Calif., won for the third consecutive year, this time in the medium-range category ($15 million to $35 million). Graphic Solutions, Inc., Burr Ridge, Ill., was honored in the mid-range category ($6 million to $15 million), and Amherst Label, Amherst, N.H., won for the first time in the small-company category (less than $6 million).
These awards recognize excellence in business management as measured by defined business ratios calculated through the TLMI Management Ratio Stud, The study was established in 1973 by Eugene Singer. Calculations incorporate figures for profitability, liquidity, growth, productivity, efficiency and capital structure.
