Nonwovens slitting-system benefits explained
How to choose an efficient setup
"Automated Slitting Systems for the Nonwovens Industry" outlines the role slitting plays in converting these products by covering the key areas that affect knife performance and discusses factors that should be considered when choosing an efficient setup configuration. A convenient chart summarizes various positioning systems, setup times, accuracy, knife life, safety and web position. The literature can help converters improve productivity by both reducing out-of-specification product and cutting downtime.

Single-blade slitter cuts to any width
Handles 12- to 20-in. OD parent rolls
The LOG HOG is a versatile single-blade slitter to economically cut vinyls, PSAs, foam, spun adhesives and non-wovens to any width. Models allow a 12- or 20-in. dia., 62- or 74-in.-wide roll of material to be productively and accurately slit without heat buildup. The unit's center-shaft design, drive system and patented scalloped, straight-blade mount provide slitting even up to the final 1 in. on the roll. A beveled round blade can be mounted in place of the straight blade. A driven beveled or toothed blade is optional.
