Making Change

Staff -- Converting Magazine, 3/1/2002

To increase its global presence in the pressure-sensitive label-converting field, Canada-based CCL Industries will acquire European labelmaker Jarvis Porter for about $10.1 million. Among the facilities to join CCL are two U.K. sites, in Lewes and Leeds, and European plants in Utrecht, The Netherlands, and Paris. Jarvis Porter converts labels mainly for the consumer and healthcare markets.

As an initial foray into the South American flex-pack converting field, Pechiney Plastic Packaging says it acquired Argentina-based Envaril Plastic Packaging. Envaril converts flexible packaging for food, meat and dairy customers. It reportedly has sales of $18 million and operates two plants in Chilvilco and San Luis.
