Brand Packaging Ltd., of Salford, Manchester, U.K., reports that its new Titan TS 350 slitter/rewinder from Valmet Converting, Biggleswade, England, has helped boost the company's productivity by almost 50 percent. One of the U.K.'s largest, privately owned converters of flexible packaging, Brand Packaging upgraded its slitter/rewinder capacity in early 2001 with the installation of the Titan TS 350. Three Titan SR6 units are already at the plant with other Valmet equipment, which includes two Rotomec gravure printing presses and a Rotomec extrusion-coating machine.
