System uses spectrodensitometer scanner

Komori America Corp., 847/806-9000, fax: 847/806-9038, www.komori.com

The PQC-IV print quality-control system for Komori sheetfed offset presses presets ink-key profiles to reportedly achieve standard density in 30 sheets. An integrated, closed-loop-scanning spectrodensitometer allows for approval of minor adjustments after 300 sheets before going directly to production speeds of 13,000 sph. The multiple-band device reads patches on a color bar so it can report color measurements relative to the presses ink keys. The scanner provides automatic measurement, data collection and analysis, and SPC reporting.
