Static-neutralization system supplier Ion Industrial establishes an office in Loerrach, Germany, to expand its printing and converting industry reach in Europe. The Windsor Locks, Conn.-based vendor's new office, near the border of Switzerland and France, will provide sales, technical support, application development and customer training across the continent.
The North American Printing Systems Group of BASF, Mount Olive, N.J., forms an alliance Nov. 8 with Heidelberg Canada Graphic Equipment Ltd. to distribute BASF's line of K+E Printing Inks in Canada. The deal allows both BASF and Heidelberg to improve distribution of printing inks and related products to major package printers in Canada. The alliance also lets each company focus on its respective strengths, achieving growth in the graphic-arts industry.
Philadelphia-based Rohm and Haas Co. announces Nov. 2 that it acquires the flexible packaging adhesives business of Technical Coatings Co., subsidiary of Benjamin Moore & Co. of New Jersey. The acquisition includes the development, production and distribution of a full line of cold-seal adhesives, mainly for the food and medical industries. The Technical Coatings flexible packaging adhesives business will be integrated into the Packaging and Converting strategic business unit of Rohm and Haas Adhesives and Sealants business.

Green Bay, Wis.-based Paper Converting Machine Co. forms a new Nonwovens Group within its Special Products Div. The group is responsible for the sales, engineering, manufacturing and service of all PCMC nonwovens machinery.
