To accommodate rapid growth, Shelbyville, Tenn.-based Quintec Films completes a new 30,000-sq-ft building addition, designed to accommodate two more seven-layer cast-film lines and handle anticipated warehousing requirements. A producer of seven-layer flexible packaging films, including stretch, food packaging and converter films, Quintec also received a patent in July for its seven-layer stretch film.
Within two months, Tampa, Fla.-based Convergent Label Technology will consolidate production into two of its three facilities. Operations in Lenexa, Kan., will be phased out so that manufacturing can be focused in two main specialty label plants in Joplin, Mo., and Tampa to improve customer service and operating efficiency. Convergent manufactures prescription labels used in retail pharmacies, and supplies preprinted and variable-image labels to the transportation, distribution and food processing industries.
