Temple-Inland Inc., Indianapolis announces plans to acquire Gaylord Container Corp., Deerfield, Ill.

"The addition of Gaylord will extend our market reach, add to our customer base and provide increased operational efficiency," says Kenneth M. Jastrow II, chairman and chief executive officer of Temple-Inland.

Temple-Inland manufactures corrugated packaging and building products. Gaylord converts brown paper packaging products including corrugated containers and sheets, multi-wall and retail bags, containerboard and unbleached kraft paper.
