TLMI reschedules technical conference

Staff -- Converting Magazine, 11/1/2001

February 18-19, 2002, are the new dates for the TLMI Technical Conference to be held at The Drake Hotel in Chicago. The event had been postponed due to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The conference, entitled "Lead, Follow or Lost: Keeping Up With Technology," focuses on helping plant and production managers throughout the tag and label industry improve productivity and efficiency in a changing environment.

Meeting chair Mike Buystedt, technical director of Akzo Nobel Inks, says he expects only minor adjustments to the original conference program, based on the availability of speakers for the new dates. Topics will include Training and Process Improvement, Digital Printing Update, Anilox Rolls: Audit and Cleaning, Specialty Technologies, New Technologies for Narrow Web Converters, Flexible Packaging, Folding Carton Technology, Prepress, Revolutionary Adhesives and Release Materials.

TLMI president Mike Dowling thanks all those who had chosen to donate their original conference registration fee to the American Red Cross. TLMI was able to donate more than $5,000 on their behalf in support of the Sept. 11 relief efforts.

The fee for the two-day conference is $350 for TLMI members, $400 for non-members.
