Impaxx restructures, consolidates, relocates
Staff -- Converting Magazine, 11/1/2001
Packaging materials and labeling equipment company Impaxx, Inc., Schaumburg, Ill., made several changes to its business this fall, including a restructuring of sales and marketing. The new organization combines the sales forces of the company's eight converting operations under one national organizational structure.
Impaxx also doubles the size of its printing facility in Raleigh, N.C., to serve pharmaceutical-based customers. The 31,000-sq-ft expansion brings manufacturing space up to more than 60,000-sq-ft with 5,000-sq-ft of office space.
In Utah, Impaxx consolidates manufacturing operations from two facilities into one newly designed location in American Fork, Utah. The new location expands the company's customer-service capability, provides a streamlined workflow and allows for employees to relocate to the new plant. The move was expected to be complete in October.
Impaxx also moves its I.L. Walker carton business into a new, larger facility in Vernon, Calif. The plant replaces the current facility, located in four separate buildings in Los Angeles.
