Flexo veteran Bunnell retires
Staff -- Converting Magazine, 9/1/2001
Dale Bunnell, vp of business development for St. Louis-based pressmaker Mark Andy, Inc., retired in August after 38 years in the printing industry. A Brigham Young University alumnus, Bunnell began working at Mark Andy in 1978 with several years of offset-printing experience already under his belt. He served for 12 years as the company's national sales mgr. He has been an active member of the FTA, TLMI and FINAT and is the co-founder and current chairman of the World Label Assn.
Throughout his career, Bunnell has been a strong advocate of cutting-edge flexography, spurring the development of "quick-change" print stations and helping to transform flexo from "glorified rubber stamping" to its present high-quality status.
"What I value most," he says, "are the friends I've made in this industry. Always treat your customers and friends with respect. It's the key to success in business as well as life."
