Foam tape used to mount plates

Tesa Tape, Inc., 704/553-4668, fax: 704/553-5677, www.tesatape.com

Tesa 52021 is a Softprint 20-mil foam tape designed specifically for mounting photopolymer plates onto steel print cylinders. It was engineered for process printing on wide-web film and paper. The 52031 is comprised of a closed-cell polyethylene foam incorporating a stabilizing film. By applying this tape, it will reduce foam fatigue during long print runs. A consistent thickness of the tape across the web and an ease of tape removal from the cylinder and plate when desired will take place when applying the tape as well.

Plates designed for corrugated shipper

DuPont, 800/345-9999, www.dupont.com/cyrel

The Cyrel® DRC (deep relief corrugated) is the newest sheet plate offering printing and storage performance compared to liquid photopolymer plates. The thickness, low durometer and dimensionally stable polyester base provides ink transfer for good printing uniformity and accurate register, says co. The DRC photopolymer is designed specifically for water-based inks and is said to deliver clean, sharp printing with less press wash up. Presses can also run longer using the new plate because it is highly durable and retains its permanent tack-free surface even after numerous runs.

Plates deliver rapid processing

RBCOR, LLC, 800/352-7566, fax: 760/471-1650, www.rbcor.com

Elaslon printing plates deliver rapid plate processing, consistent print quality, ink transfer, dense solids and crisp halftones, says co. These patented plates are said to assure extended press runs and high ozone resistance. The wide exposure latitude allows for combination of process screens, solids and line work on the same plate without masking. Elaslon can be used for most corrugated applications, such as food packaging, folded cartons and labels.
