Madison, Miss.-based multiwall bag converter Southern Bag Corp. and its Burlington, Ont., Canada, counterpart Bonar Packaging change their names August 1 to become Hood Packaging. Both firms are owned by the Hood Companies.
With its creation, Hood Packaging will reportedly be the world's third largest converter of multiwall bags and a top maker of industrial plastic bags in North America. Southern Bag serves the pet food, sugar, chemical, seed/feed and bakery markets. Bonar has seven plants in Canada and one in Tyler, Texas.
