Technology improves bag machine

The Model 4180 is designed to produce a wide variety of bags, stacked or on a roll, either in-line with a blown film system or off-line as a standalone bag producer. It features an advanced micro-processor-based control system and an AC flux vector main drive said to increase productivity and product quality and give the processor a greater level of overall production flexibility. Available in sizes from 30 to 100 in. wide, the 4180 has a maximum speed of 350 fpm and will handle single or multiple film webs up to 12 mils thick or 6 mils gusseted. Minimum bag repeat length is 10 in. with an infinite maximum length.

This co. offers the model 251 automatic bag winder designed for wider widths, with a maximum of 60 in. Features include winding on 1 1/2 or 3 in. cores, core attachment and hopper for auto core loading, process speeds up to 500 fpm, and operator-free automatic transfer of finished rolls. A dancer/accumulator for easy straight-through threading and sparker unit for accurate roll counts are also available on the 251 model.

The CDD Model 3224 is a stand-up zipper pouch machine said to provide consistent, high quality seals. Longitudinal and cross seal bars feature heat pipe sealing technology for consistent seals. The Model PPS-250 packet placing system is designed to cut and place a variety of packets and sachets for many applications including desiccant, oxygen absorber, EAS capsule label, condiment and wet nap placing. The servomotors provide accurate cut positioning on a continuous web of packeted product. The PPS-250 has an electronic drive system for packet or sachet dispensing in time with the production process. The rotary air cylinder-actuated knife system cuts each package precisely, while the outfeed places each package into a continuously moving production line flight.

Bundler with paper feed system

The semi-automatic bag bundler is able to package sleeve wrapped bundles or extended wrapped bundles. The machine automatically feeds a preset length of wrapping paper, which cuts to length by pneumatically operated blades. The operator then transfers the pre-determined count of bags onto the bundling table. Touch-switched cycle the operated platen to compress the bags to the preset size. As an option, a motor-driven tape dispenser can provide gummed tape to seal the wrap. After sealing the wrap, the ejector assembly pushes the bundle to the discharge point and new wrapping paper automatically feeds into position to start the next cycle.

Pouch machine produces packing

This 26-in. wide multi-servo high-speed pouch machine produces packing slip pouches at a rate of over 1,250/min. A special servo-handling system assists the packer at the machine's delivery end. The pouches are neatly stacked and presented to the packer on the conveyor table. Newly added to the machine: a PLC system to control the servos and electric-eye registration. Upgrades available include the ability to stack up to 500 pieces/bundle.
