Mondi release-liner plant to start up high-speed coater

Wide-web line for silicone-, specialty-release coating at Jülich, Germany, plant will serve pressure-sensitive market.

Mondi Jülich GmbH, one of five release liner plants of Mondi Coatings in Europe specialising in silicone coated and special release liner solutions specifically developed for the market of self-adhesive products, will install a new coater at their location in Koslar within the next year and will therewith further strengthen the leading position at the German market.

 "This modern coating machine impresses not only by a high speed and a versatile product spectrum but - with a width of 2.3-meter - also offers the possibility of flexibility on customer demands for broaden product ranges and ideally fulfil these customer needs. In addition the investment points out that Mondi wants to further strengthen the production facilities in Jülich in order to grow in the European release liner market", says Carsten Lange, Managing Director Release Liner Europe.

The strategic investment of a new coater further strengthens the competitive situation of Mondi Coatings and enhances the international multiple plant network of Mondi Coatings. With this investment Mondi emphasises the importance and strategic interest in the international release liner market and provides capacities for further growth.

The machine will be brought online in the course of the next year.

Mondi Jülich GmbH is one of the five release liner plants in Europe specialized in paper siliconising for label and tapes as well as other self-adhesive products. The Jülich plant belongs to the Mondi Group since October 2006.
