Printpack opens new packaging plant in China

Flexible-packaging giant's Suzhou site produces shelf-stable, thermoformed plastic containers for the food industry.

PRESS RELEASE -- Converting Magazine, 11/18/2009 2:15:41 PM

Atlanta-based flexible-packaging converter Printpack is pleased to announce the opening of Printpack (Suzhou) Packaging Co., Ltd., the newest addition to Printpack's global manufacturing footprint. The production facility, located in Suzhou, China, will produce shelf stable thermoformed rigid plastic containers for the food packaging industry.

The focus of the plant will be on supplying packaging to new and existing Printpack customers in the Asian region. The local manufacturing capabilities will enable Printpack's customers to shorten the supply chain for their packaging needs while allowing timely service support and technical advice. Additionally, Printpack's Thailand office will continue providing sales and technical support services for our internationally produced products.

Printpack's manufacturing capabilities include thermoformed shelf stable containers, standup pouches, specialty laminations, modified-atmosphere packaging, blown and cast films, die-cut foil and plastic lidding, rotogravure and flexographic printing in up to 11 colors and metalized films.

Founded in 1956 and headquartered in Atlanta, GA, USA, Printpack is a privately-held manufacturer of flexible and specialty rigid packaging. Employing 4,220 associates worldwide, the company operates 27 manufacturing facilities in the United States, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Poland and China.
